‘Tis the season for kindness and compassion

This blog post has very little to do with promotional merchandise or corporate gifting, though one could make the correlation. But, the blog itself is a personal way to reach out to my clients, friends and, in a small part, the world.

My husband and I recently got caught up in watching Gilmore Girls after a discussion about Amy Sheridan Palladino’s writing and producing style. The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is amazing…and lead us down the rabbit hole, back to Gilmore Girls. There are things that irk me about Palladino’s style, but one thing she does well is capture the human condition.

In the beginning episodes of Gilmore Girls, Paris is seriously bullying Rory. We began discussing different home lives and how they produce different behaviors in children (reflecting on parenting is one of my favorite masochistic addictions). This lead to a platitude that made us pause for a minute…”you never know what battles someone else is struggling with.”

A large part of our business is assisting in the creation, selection, decorating, delivering of items purchased by individuals under high pressure. Their jobs require so much out of them that we designed a whole new division (coolperx) to try and ease their lives, just a little. We often take the brunt of their stress and give them back some relief. Because our clients know that we have every last detail covered.

And, to my point. In the spirit of the holiday, the stress of the gift giving, the end of the fiscal year, the last minute shopping for swag 😉 and all the family dynamics that you choose to participate in….I hope everyone can find it in their hearts to be kind and compassionate. Isn’t that the best give you could give to someone?
